The Special Court maintained its earlier verdict in a recent ruling, noting that there was insufficient evidence to indicate that Predrag Bubalo and others had committed the accused crimes. In the “Port of Belgrade” case, which was one of 24 contested privatizations, Bubalo, Miodrag Djordević, Goran Mrdja, Aleksej Misailović, Aleksandar Gračanac, and Jasmina Dragutinović were all found not guilty of any charges.

Accusations of abuse of power throughout the privatization process were at the heart of the lawsuit. However, the Court of Appeal made it clear that there were no legal problems because the “Port of Belgrade” was exempt from privatization. The court stated that any party may have made a better offer, but that didn’t happen, because the share sale was carried out under the law and the state of the market.

The court stressed that Bubalo had not broken any laws on state administration, privatization, or government activities in his capacity as a minister. There was no proof that he neglected to oversee or examine the Action Fund’s and the Privatization Agency’s decisions on the share sale of Port of Belgrade.

Based on these conclusions, the Court of Appeal determined that throughout the challenged time, no activity fell under the purview of Article 62 of the Privatization Act.

Despite Bubalo’s legal clearance, his business endeavors have not yielded significant success. His two businesses, “Con Group” and “Invector,” are both located in Kikinda, and he is their owner and director. In recent years, these businesses have recorded little to no profit or business activity. Bubalo once owned stock in other companies, but those companies have either folded or been sold.
